comments: I was searching around for alternatives to Adobe Reader other than TextPal. I read on another blog about Accessible Pdf, and the guest blogger had only positive things to say about it. So taking his advice to heart, I went and got a copy. I just Googled "Accessible pdf," and the first place I found was Claro Software. I have quite honestly had mixed results with it, but mostly negative. I was able to download and install it okay, but the problems began when I opened some pdf files. I started with my biology textbook and lab manual. They didn't work at all with System Access, and they only sort of worked with NVDA. For some reason the number of files on both flash drives increased with this program. Then I tried reading some pdf files on my church's website and they actually worked okay. An email containing a pdf attachment from somebody at the office where I worked, did great. But the email attachment from my biology professor didn't read at all. I really hope somebody comes up with a way soon for screen readers and .pdf files to get along. It seems that format is becoming more and more popular these days.
