comments: If you are wondering whether you should upgrade to Adobe Reader 8 from a pprevious version, you should be glad to know that it works with JAWS 8.
I rate Adobe Reader8.0 a four because when you first install the program, there is a screen that says "Beyond Adobe Reader" that is not accessible. You must use the JAWS cursor to check the box that says something like "Do not show this at startup" and Adobe Reader will work fine from there.
When installing Adobe reader, you can choose to setup the program with accessible faetures for screen readers and other things such as magnifyers. i recommend choosing the recommended settings button from the dialog box that comes up and going through the rest of the installation process.
From my experiences, Adobe Reader 8 seems to perform much better than Adobe reader 7 did on my system. It took it only a few seconds to a minute to open a PDF document that was about 145 pages in length.

comments: I agree with everything the previous reviewer said. The feature I like about Adobe 8.0 is that the Read Out Loud feature is turned on manually. In version 7, Read Out Loud was always on or always off. In version 8, you activate the feature with control-y. The feature automatically turns off upon program exit. Great job on the new version, Adobe!
