comments: The good folks over at ACB Radio, a service provided free of charge by the American Council of the Blind, have just released version 6.5 of the ACB Radio Tuner. The Tuner is a little application that lets you conveniently switch ACB Radio channels without having to go to the website. The tuner can be downloaded for free from http://www.acbradio.org/tuner . Previous versions of this tuner only had four channels: ACB Radio Mainstream, Interactive, Treasure Trove and Cafe. However, they just added a fifth channel, which is devoted to programming from around the world, and the new version of the Tuner reflects this addition. Here is what you will hear on the other four ACB Radio channels. The Mainstream channel is a talk-show format and contains programming by members and leaders of ACB. On the Treasure Trove you will hear old-time radio. The Interactive channel features deejays who are visually-impaired playing your requests and anything else they can get their hands on. Basically the Interactive channel is just like any other music radio stations out there. Finally, the ACB Radio Cafe is where you'll hear music written and performed by artists who are visually-impaired like Ronnie Milsap, Stevie Wonder and others. Take a listen to ACB Radio. You will not be disappointed! Also new in this version of the Tuner is a tutorial available in mp3 format, which walks the user through all aspects of the program, from download and installation to exiting. In closing I'd like to say that the ACB Radio folks have listened to user feedback and everything is great.
