comments: Cool Edit 2000 is yet another audio editing program. It is screen reader friendly. I tested this software with JFW7.0 and it is very fantastic. From audio editing perspective, it is useful if the user is going to record audio content, but it is not suitable for adding audio effects. Because of it's confusing keyboard assignment, it is quite hard to learn at first, but, as time goes on, you'll love what it does (especially when it comes to mixing sounds). I would like to recommend this program for beginners (I'm a beginner myself.).
